While online shopping was the order of the day, the firm’s employees did not lose that holiday spirit and their desire to help those less fortunate than themselves. Gift wrapping was handled in a socially distanced space in shifts with only a couple of people participating at any given time.
The “Adopt a Family” program was created in the hopes of assisting families whose child had been diagnosed with cancer to help alleviate both the financial and emotional stress that the holiday season may cause a family. Candlelighters serves approximately 125 families monthly, and as many as 600 children throughout the year. Children from birth to 21 years of age who have been diagnosed with cancer or who have survived cancer are eligible for services if they are living or being treated in Nevada. LAS VEGAS, NV (December 2019) For the ninth consecutive year, the Bailey Kennedy law firm supported the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada by participating in its “Adopt a Family” program. Beginning right after Thanksgiving, employees of the Firm shopped for the two adopted families with an eye toward what each individual family member needed, wanted, or requested. Firm employees bought and expertly gift-wrapped each purchase in what at times resembled an HGTV holiday special.

They are reminded that they are not alone during this difficult time in their lives.”
